Trade of the Week: |
 |
| |
No
new focus stock this week. Added to the watch list are ACE and ASML
long. ACE daily timing is off here and ASML could use a longer weekly
base for a monthly triangle breakout to the upside.
Updates
Positions in green
have triggered and are profitable. Positions in red have triggered but
are not yet profitable. Those in blue
have not yet triggered.
10/10/2005 Watch
List Long: AES, FSL, SBAC, WFMI -
Remove FSL.
10/3/2005 Herbalife,
Ltd. (HLF) offers weight
management, nutritional supplement, and personal care products in the
United States. Its weight management product portfolio includes meal
replacements, weight-loss accelerators, and various healthy snacks.
After three waves of strong buying, HLF has put in a larger correction
on the weekly charts, leaving room for a fourth wave of buying before
it needs a much longer monthly correction. Look for a breakout on the
daily and weekly charts of HLF. Support levels will be the low of the
correction from the last two months as well as the 20 day sma.
For
more information on HLF, please watch this video:
http://www.tradingfrommainstreet.com/Videos/flr.html
9/26/2005 Fluor
Corporation (FLR) triggered
an upside breakout over $63 with support at
$59.50. It has highs so
far of $64.40.
For
more information on FLR, please watch this video:
http://www.tradingfrommainstreet.com/Videos/flr.html
9/12/2005 Northern Trust
Corporation (NTRS) operates
as the holding company of The Northern Trust Company (bank). It
provides investment management, asset and fund administration,
fiduciary and banking solutions for corporations, institutions, and
individuals worldwide. After breaking out of the triangle trading range
in July, NTRS has begun basing again at last year's highs. We are
watching this stock for a continuation of that monthly breakout on a
daily and weekly breakout over the next couple of weeks. The 20 week
sma is support and the $63-$65 is the target zone. It triggered a
possible daily setup on 10/14/2005.
For
more information on NTRS, please watch this video:
http://www.tradingfrommainstreet.com/Videos/ntrs.html
8/29/2005
Automatic
Data Processing, Inc. (ADP) provides
computerized transaction processing, data communication, and
information services worldwide. ADP has been forming a monthly cup with
handle and within the
handle it has been forming a weekly cup with handle. The main con from
a technical standpoint is that the lows could have been more rounded in
2003 to form a better cup on that time frame. With declining volume on
this range and the nice range development, however, I will be watching
for a breakout to the upside. $45.56 is a break in the range with the
prior monthly pivot low (currently near the $40 whole number level)
serving as support. For
more information, check out the following video:
http://www.tradingfrommainstreet.com/Videos/adp.html
8/22/2005
iVillage, Inc.
(IVIL) triggered a breakout on 9/16 above $6.75. High
$7.90. $4.95 is
support. For
more information on the fundamentals of IVIL, check out this video:
http://tradingfrommainstreet.com/images/PositionTradeLetter/IVIL/ivil.html
8/15/2005 Hospira, Inc. (HSP)
triggered a breakout the week of August 28th when it hit the 20 week
sma we were watching at $37.18 and then broke higher out of the weekly
range of $40. $41.65 highs. Current support is $37.91.
Additional stocks to watch for buy
setups over the next couple of weeks to months: ABB, CSGS, VRTX, VSEA.
Technology stocks have been weaker than the overall market in the past
year, but as other sectors start to correct, this one is likely to
catch some attention. Stocks I will be watching in coming months are QCOM, AAPL, KLAC. AAPL and
QCOM, which were my favorites at the time, have been moving
steadily higher. QCOM holding
aforementioned resistance at prior highs.
8/30/2005 Evergreen
Solar, Inc. (ESLR) ESLR
has triggered a monthly triangle breakout from $7.00. This looks to be
near the start of a
much longer and stronger uptrend on the monthly charts with potential
to hold for a few years. Of course, this would mean a much larger stop
to start with under $4.68 and the 20 month sma. Support for a shorter
term hold is $5.75. Highs of $9.65 so far.
