Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. (DLTR) is an operator of discount variety stores offering merchandise at the fixed price of $1.00. IN recent months, DLTR has been basing at highs and consolidating on declining volume. It has recently pulled into its 20 week sma support. Look for buying opportunities in DLTR over the next couple of weeks with a stop under $27.

Other stocks of interest as position trade buys are CEG and COST.

Note: I will be holding a one week online mentoring course beginning January 24th for those looking to learn more about the methods I utilize in selecting and managing everything from scalps to position trades. Open Positions:

1/3/2005 On the short side, Alcoa Inc. (AA) set up under $31.41 on a monthly Avalanche and daily bear flag. Position trade stop over $35. Swingtrade stop over $32. Lows of $29.22 (+$2.19,+6.97%)so far. Swingtrade closed. Small partials protected on a position trade. Position trade target of $25.

12/13/2004 MBNA Corporation (KRB) Breakout over $27.19 with stop under $25.74 on a weekly reverse head and shoulders. $29.01 ($1.82, +6.7% move) highs hit so far.

12/6/2004 Select Comfort Corp. (SCSS) Monthly bear flag under $15.45 on the higher risk setup. The downside is that the initial stop will be rather larger over $20.70, but I anticipate holding this stock for over a year. You can wait for a smaller weekly base here as a result of this gap for a lower risk entry and the ability to place a tighter stop. $14.75 lows.

10/25/2004 - ImClone Systems Incorporated (IMCL) Weekly breakdown. Those watching for swingtrades to trigger an entry might already have it from the Focus Letter under $49.13 zone. Stops would be over the highs of the base over the last couple months.  IMCL lows so far are $38.50 (+$10.63,+21.63% move). Stops can be moved to over $47.25. Partials protected. - Toni

10/18/2004 - Old Dominion Fright Lines, Inc. (Nasdaq: ODFL)  Setup above $30.25 per share with my protective stop placed under $27.15. Highs of $36.50 ($6.25, 20.66%) so far. Some trailing stops hit. - Brandon

10/04/2004 - Lam Research Corporation (LRCX) Over $23.51 with a stop under $19.71. It has reached $29.70. Monthly target is a retest of $35. To lower risk you could have used the 60 minute cup with handle going into the 18th (entry in the $22.15 zone.) Partials protected. Move trailing stops to under $25. - Toni

8/16/2004 - Wells Fargo & Company (WFC) Over $60 with a stop under the lows of the monthly base at the time of the setup for a hold of about 6 months. Earlier entries based on daily and weekly setups are possible but will have higher risk. Highs hit of $64.04. - Toni

5/24/2004 - Expeditors Int'l of WA (EXPD) was given long on 5/24/2004 for accumulation as a longer term hold on the monthly charts. The 20 month sma is support. $43.68-$44.15 was the range on the 24th. Highs of $58.40 so far. Should look to have partials protected. Trailing stops initiated. Some hit. - Toni

10/16/2003 - The Allstate Corporation (ALL) provided a monthly setup on October 16, 2003 over $40 with a stop under $34.48. It has reached a high of $51.99 ($11.99, +30% move). Target was $50. Partials protected. $45.90 is 2001 highs. Those looking for only a several week hold will be out with a trailing stop.  Trailing stop initiated. - Toni
